New and trublling information on pedophilia in Israel was published today (Monday). According to the Freedom of Information act , approximately 12,189 police files were opened in the past five years against sex with minors, of which 4,676 were transferred to the State Attorney's Office, and only 597 indictments were filed. The most of the indictments ended with plea bargains, which indicate that indictments are served only at 5 percent of cases that are opened .
When examining the data for 2018 compared with previous years, there is a significant increase in the number of cases opened by the State Attorney's Office for pedophilia cases each year, but the number of indictments is actually significantly reduced. 88 indictments were filed in 2018, compared to 156 in 2014.
On behalf of MAPF (Public Pool and Pedophile Monitoring), it revealed that it "is working to enact the public pedophile reservoir law, similar to American law, whose effectiveness has been proven empirically by dozens of studies."
Eliran Malki, Chairman of the Israel National Council for Human Rights in Israel, said that "according to estimates of sexual abuse every year, 100,000 minors are injured, and when a minor is sexually abused, he has to go through several hurdles until you file a complaint with the police." Malki added that the hurdles reinforce the claim that the number of police complaints does not reflect the full extent of the phenomenon. "In the past five years, the number of complaints has increased, while the number of indictments that the State Prosecutor's Office has decided to submit has decreased."
In Israel, it is very worthwhile to be a pedophile, not only is the anonymity of the perpetrator is preserved, only a Public pool open to the public can create shock in the system, deter the pedophiles and provide parents with tools to protect their children. "
"Israel is a paradise for pedophiles and a wild West for children," Malki said, adding that "273 children are sexually assaulted on average every day, two thirds of the injuries are within the family, and one of every five children is a victim of sexual abuse. The IPS, which is supposed to supervise the released pedophiles, can not really withstand the workload, and one inspector can not supervise at least 30 pedophiles on the streets defined as a "ticking bomb at the same time ." Someone has to wake up and stop the number of victims that is only growing from day to day. "
